Governance and Structure

This current structure will enable the judiciary to deliver its mission in an efficient and effective manner. In order to ensure the strategic goals are achieved effectively; the responsibilities of governance bodies includes:

  • The Chief Justice is the highest person of the judiciary heirchy and plays an important role in setting the strategic policy directions for the judiciary. The CJ will continue to provide strategic direction to the lower court chief Judges for implementing the strategic plan and help in maintaining close coordination and interaction among them.
  • The Chief Judges who are highest persons of lower courts including appeal, regional and district courts, will play a role a great role in implement the strategy in their levels.
  • The Management team consists of the highest person and departments of administration in each court who are basically technical specialists. The management has an important role in; advising the Chief Justice and Chief Judges about workable and doable activities; the development dynamics in their context, and constantly assess and manage risks
